What is better to help the MTA, craniosacral therapy or chiropractic?
Recently I have been dx with TMJ. I had 3 surgeries (which requires the mouth to be open) and 2 root canals done. I also tightened at night and when stressed. I had some craniosacral therapy 1 time and I could see that this really help, but is expensive. ATM Can a chiropractor help too?
I'm sure many of chiropractors (and die hard believers) undoubtedly respond that chiropractic can help, but that's because they think that chiropractic can help anything and everything. A similar professional (Osteopath) has already given his two cents. To which I comment. He said that with techniques he has had "good results". For me, the word "some" means that most of the time the results were not favorable. That's the difference between alternative and conventional medical doctors. Alternative practitioners, as chiropractors (and, apparently, osteopaths) will stick with his one catch-all "type of treatment, no matter what (perhaps because all what can they do? Although osteopaths in the U.S. can offer conventional medical treatments as well). But you see a chiropractor go to "adjust" patients despite the many patients who do not improve. Finally, one patient is obliged to tell them they feel better. And when that happens, you will comment as: "I've seen some success with this treatment." Compared to what? Two success stories that the chiropractor will instantly forget the two dozens of failures. And that brings me to my final point. Chiropractors do not admit a failure, because there will always rationalize that just has not started work yet. Or will say, "although we can not say, is working." In other words, your opinion is important only when it validates what they have done. But answer your question, I would like to see a real doctor who specializes in these disorders.
