please help .. any information about migraines ATM?
I've had migraines for a while .. i and a nurse (who still goes to the medical school) I felt my mouth outbreak .. and clicking and I could never know what my migraines were .. I kept a food diary, everything .. well .. She suggested that perhaps it was caused by the ATM .. I'm not sure if I have or not, because my parents can not afford a dentist or doctor right now … longer has broken jaw and went even when I just open my mouth .. has been enough pain that it hurts to talk .. I just ignored .. I also grind their teeth at night .. this is the best information that can give .. please help if anyone knows about migraines ATM .. that would help me a lot .. I've been trying forever to find what causes migraines .. thanks!

My orthodontist was diagnosed with TMJ about a year ago. Should I go to a TMJ specialist?
The orthodontist gave me a very thick slab about 3 months to carry night. It has helped a little, but very slowly. Every time I go to the orthodontist, he just tells me to use the device more. I would like explore latest treatment methods for going to a TMJ specialist, but our insurance does not cover and my mom did not want to pay thousands of dollars. My jaw has been locked more twice in the past and make it almost every time I open my mouth. A TMJ specialist be a good choice?
I went to a TMJ specialist … and all he did was a device to use me as you described. Helped keep the pain to a minimum, but I like it because every time I pulled my teeth do not bite properly together again. I think the only treatment option that is available (in addition to controlling the pain with ibuprofen and the like) is that her jaw broken and re-set. I personally do not mind. And I've heard that in some cases, even that does not help. My advice would be to try to avoid stress (that always seems to be an aggravating factor to me), still wearing the splint provided by your orthodontis and ibuprofen if the pain gets too bad. Also try to avoid eating foods that are difficult to chewing gum and foods that aggravate your clicking, locking, pain etc. Good luck!
